Make an instant geyser at your home

A geyser sometimes becomes very essential in winter season mainly for bathing purpose. How it would be if you can make an instant geyser by your own hand?

In this post I am going to discuss how to make an instant geyser and the cost of the material needed.
An instant geyser is slightly different from conventional geyser . A conventional geyser gives hot water taking more time than an instant geyser. Though it’s name is instant geyser, it takes near about 30 seconds to supply hot water. This type of geyser is not designed for large capacities like a storage of hot water. An optimum volume of the container is needed for proper heating.
Main working principle of instant geyser-

We all know that if current passes through a resistance, the resistance becomes hot. This resistance heating principle is implemented in instant geyser. The water first enters through the  inlet and then goes to the container. But it does not stay in the container, it almost immediately starts flowing through the outlet. The geyser resistive element is placed  inside the container. It consumes high power(near about 3kw) to heat the water. The heating of the water depends on the rate of flow of water. For high rate of flow heating will be low and vice-versa. Here we use a thermostat switch for safety of the heating element. When the flow of water becomes very low and the temperature inside becomes very high, the thermostat switch automatically trips  OFF the power supply.   The temperature in which the thermostat switch will trip is prefixed and it depends on it’s setting.

Here you can add an indicating lamp connecting to the mains.
What you must keep in your mind-
1.   Do not switch on the geyser without assuring circulation of water through the geyser. Otherwise the heating element will burn out soon.
2.   Dip the heating element fully in the water.
3.   Must check the thermostat tripping temperature before setting. This is in general 55 to 60 degree C.
4.   Must provide proper earthing.
